New to Hubert

We recently moved to Hubert from Philadelphia, PA to join family that already lives here, and have loved it so far.

We were welcomed to the neighborhood while we were still unpacking and have felt welcome ever since. Our kids feel safe in school. In fact, we have had more contact with the teachers in the past couple of months than we would have had all year long in Philly. We are missing a few of the conveniences of living in a big city like Philadelphia, but we can live without them in order to keep our new feeling of safety and the new quiet life we have found here in Hubert.

So, I just want to say hello to everyone, and we hope to be in the area for a long time.

I lived in a Hubert trailer park run by Lindsey and Doug Bell in 1982. I was married to a Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune. My husband died in Lebanon and I hope to visit where we had lived. I am coming to the area in October for a 25th anniversary ceremony.

If someone reading this knows the people or the place, please let me know. I remember that the Bell family had a nice house at the entrance to the property. And there was a creek alongside with turtles. I especially remember how kind and friendly Doug Bell was.

January Off Shore Black Sea Bass Fishing

Went offshore on Sunday 6 Jan 08 for some Black Sea Bass

About 25 to 30 miles off shore we found a nice bump. Caught around 100 Sea Bass and kept 20 for fish tacos! Mum Mum were they Tastey.

Caught a couple with Tags on them, need to call them in for the biologist.

Was a gorgeous day on the water, ocean was about 68 Degree 25 miles out.

Fishing 20 Dec 07

Went Fishing off the coast of Swansboro NC, caught my first citation black sea bass, was 5lbs 7 ounces.

We Fish one of the local ww2 sunk boats.

we kept

12 red snappers
12 Black Sea bass (4 over 4lbs)
2 Silver Snappers
5 Amber Jacks

Released

4 Sand Tigers, 3 over 200lbs
20 to 30 AJ's
50 to 75 small bass and reds and other assorted fish.

We were about 25 miles off the coast in about 110ft of water.

Was incredible day on the water, no wind and blue blue Carolina sky

San Diego Fire

I own and house and business in San Diego, last week my wife and I decided to take off to do some work and see our friends out there in CA, boy did we walk into a major fire storm.
My wife was separated from me for 3 days, 1 hour away because the highways were a blaze. I have attached a pic from my house showing what burned up the night before. http://www.springvalleyca.com has a cam on the hill side that burned.
